Due to the healing properties of the hot water and the favorable location of the place, the king cleared the forest and built the city. "Tbilisi" — "warm" (in ancient Georgian "tfili") the city was called because of mineral springs. Later, sulfur baths were built on this site. The mentioned place is the historic district of Tbilisi - Abanotubani.
